An expedition to capture the wild landscapes and the impressive fauna of Patagonia. To photograph whales, seals, sea lions and sea elephants, Orcas and sea birds. To walk through a colony of 500.000 penguins to may observe their intricacies first hand. To shoot fallen stone trunks at two petrified woods of 65 million years old situated among reathtaking landscapes at arid Patagonian flat terrains; fossils engraved at stones, caves, and weird beaches covered by shells. We will sail among and walk on huge glaciers with walls up to 135 meters high to may photograph all from best spots. |

A drive from Trelew to Puerto Pirámide..
There, we will photograph the area declared a Worldwide Nature Heritage by UNESCO. It is Puerto Pirámide, at peninsula Valdes,making a boat trip to sail among whales, and visiting its sea lion colony .
Our itinerary will continue to Caleta Valdes, a unique coastal landscape inhabited by southern elephant seals and to Punta Cantor.

We'll drive till reach the El Doradillo Beach to may shoot the impressive riffs and seashores there. After making check in at the hotel in Trelew,
In the afternoon, we'll go to the Natural protected area of Punta Tombo, the most important Magellan Penguins colony within Patagonia. Half a million of them arrive at this place every year in order to breed. One of the greatest features of this Reservation is the fact that you can literally walk among the penguins, follow them and learn their habits. Punta Tombo is surrounded by the typical lonesome and arid landscapes of the Patagonia’s flat terrain. We will discover all the life richness hidden in its bushes. There are lambs (typical Patagonian livestock), guanacos,choiques (ostriches), maras
(Patagonian hares), foxes, and martinetas.Getting closer to the coast, we will see how this rocky territory hosts a great quantity of sea birds: southern seagulls, skúas, royal and black-necked cormorants, Antarctic pigeons and petrels.

Our trip will continue to Sarmiento across the Senguer river valley, land of greens and ochre framed by lakes Colhue Huapi and Musters. We'll drive 30 km away to the South of Sarmiento to a provincial natural monument, a forest from the Cenozoic Era, approximately 65 million years old. These petrified trees, witnesses of Prehistory, make up an indescribable beauty given by the hardness of the rock, the colour of the different geologic strata and the unique landscape surrounding them.

We'll leave to Puerto Deseado, making a stop at a special place, to go down the riffs and see caves with fossils and the weird beach with rocks covered with blue mussels.After arriving at Puerto Deseado we will sail along the Ria Deseado, a natural reserve, where there was a river that left it s bank and was occupied by the sea.. This produced as a consequence the formation of canyons, the coasts that outline the ria and islands. A great biodiversity of fauna can be observed there. |
6th day

Day excursion to the Isla Pinguino, located 25km at open sea, where we will see the only colony of the striking rock hopper penguin that exists in the Patagonia coast. If weather doesn't allow, we'll go to Cabo Blanco

7th day

A drive to visit the Jaramillo Petrified Woods, fossilized by the effect of volcanic eruptions millions of years ago on the way. The trees, turned into kind of rock statues by the action of volcanic dust, were mostly coniferous.
We will go on till reaching Puerto San Julian, the place where Magellan took possession of the territory in name of Spanish crown, where they established contact with natives calling them patagones for the first time. A drive road along 27 km of beaches with impressive landscapes and different characteristics; fossils spread on them at rocks and sand, thousand of shells forming a breathtaking ground at one of them.. These beaches were frame also of other events.. Darwin, Sir Francis Drake, Fitzroy took shelter on them

We'll drive to see Monte Leon, the first coastal national park, in order to observe and capture all species that inhabit Patagonia coast. With wide vegetation and outstanding hills, near the coast, appears Monte Leon, a peninsula eroded by the wind and water. We'll go on our trip till reach city of Calafate, distant 350 km

We'll sail along the northern arm of Argentino lake to reach glacier Upsala and Spegazzini and Onelli bay. Moving through huge icebergs, boat arrivaes at Upsala glacier, the largest in the park. We will get near the walls of the highest glacier, the Spegazzini towering over 400 ft. Onelli bay , to may disembark and hike across an andean Patagonian forest to view Onelli, Bolados and Aglassiz glaciers will be included, as well.

Leaving Calafate and after 4 hours of flight we will arrive at Buenos Aires in the afternoon. Visit to La Boca and a briefing of the travel.
